The purpose of this study is to explain the dimensions of glass ceiling on women's management in sports. The present study follows the interpretive paradigm and inductive logic with a qualitative approach. Using a combination of previous studies in the last 10 years, a total of 163 studies have been extracted from various databases in both English and Persian. The criteria for entering research for analysis closely follow the main question of the research. They entail using interviews to gather information from specific participants, using theoretical saturation to determine the participants themselves, and using coding for analysis. Finally, eight studies are selected with the necessary criteria, and analyzed using content analysis technique. The central category of the present study, based on the glass ceiling of women's management in sports, is consisted of five main categories and 14 sub-categories. The main categories include: prevalence of patriarchal culture in society, lack of trust in society in women's empowerment, disregard for macro-policies in the development of women's sports, women's low self-esteem in the development of women's sports, incompatibility of women's work, and personal environment. Given the dimensions of glass ceiling of women's management in sports, the criteria for selecting management positions in sports organizations are not fair for cultural and personal reasons. Extensive studies in this field should be conducted to change the attitudes toward women and their capabilities.

The current paper aims to analyze the factors that prevent women’s job advancement and promotion in organizations. In this study, qualitative methodology and Directed Qualitative Content Analysis approaches were applied, and 16 women of the municipal districts 2, 4, 13, 16, and 22 of Tehran were interviewed during a four-month period from May, 2016 to August, 2016. After repeated review and analysis of the written interviews, 85 semantic units, 33 codes, 5 classes, and 2 themes were extracted. Two concepts of Social-Cultural Requirements and Role Requirements were recognized as the research themes as well as the main factors preventing women from job promotion. Social-Cultural Requirements are related to the factors which are obstacles to women's job promotion, as the forces from society structure. Role Requirements are related to the factors which do not prevent job promotion directly, but ruin women personal passion for advancement, by affecting their inner desire. Based on this study, it is concluded that by focusing on Role Requirements, the obstacles to women' job promotion can be overcome.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the glass ceiling on women creative ideas working in administrative province units of Lorestan state with moderating of their self-concept variable. The population of this cross-correlation study included all women employees of administrative province units of Lorestan state. Using stratified sampling, and based on Morgan table, 306 persons were selected as samples. Instruments used in this study include a questionnaire of glass ceiling of Babaie Zklyky (1385), creativity questionnaire of Moghimi and Ramezan (1390) and Self-Concept Questionnaire of California (1986). For data analysis, structural equation test was utilized with benefit of PLS Software. The results showed that the glass ceiling is effective on women creative ideas and there is negative correlation between these two variables. Also the results of structural equation test showed that self-concept variable in correlation with glass ceiling plays moderating role in women creative ideas working in administrative province units of Lorestan state.

In recent years, women’s presence has increased in society and in work spaces. Nevertheless,the rate of their promotion to high ranking managerial positions does not correspond to theireducational developments in most of countries, especially in Iran due to some barriers whichare different in different societies and companies and at different times. The aim of thissurvey is to identify and prioritize the barriers keeping women away from managerialpositions (in oil industry). In this research the barriers of women’s presence in managerialpositions identified using a qualitative method and interview with 47 experts and mangers ofoil industry in Tehran. Then the barriers prioritized from the viewpoint of women and menusing Analytic Hierarchy Process. The results show men consider the individual barriers moreimportant and have a negative attitude towards women's capabilities and capacities, whilewomen consider the individual barriers less important.

This research has been conducted to study the social barriers for women to have managerial positions. To this end the Glass Ceiling theory and Role Conflict hypothesis have been proposed. The statistical population has been 323 employed female staff of Bank Melli in Tehran who were selected through systematic sampling based on Cochran’s sampling formula. Findings suggest that the main social obstacles for women to gain managerial position are: women’s family responsibilities, stereotypical thoughts and relationship considerations. The results also show that there is a significant relationship between women’s educational status and their access to managerial positions.
