The survival of each organization depends on its attempts to improve its performance in various fields. To do this, organizations apply numerous procedures, one of which is internal marketing. Therefore, this study aims at exploring the impact of internal marketing on the organizational performance of professors in the University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST) with special consideration of the mediating effect of gender. The study was a survey research and the sample consisted of 384 of male and female professors in UAST in the city of Tehran. To collect data, a standard questionnaire was distributed among the respondents. The content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by the experts. Also, to ensure the reliability of the questionnaire, pre-test tools were used showing that the Cronbach's alpha was at an acceptable level for the main variables in the questionnaire. The data was analyzed using Multiple Variable Structural Modelling Equations. The results showed that internal marketing has a positive impact on organizational performance. Also, it was revealed that gender has a mediating effect on the relationship between internal marketing and organizational performance. To be more specific, while the relationship proved to be statistically non-significant for male professors, it was statistically significant and positive for female professors.

Recently, gender differences in scientific production has increasingly been focused on by science sociologists. Awareness of scientific priorities, technology and human resources based on gender is one of the determining factors for science policy making and the success of plans. The present study aimed to examine the status and quota of women in academic departments and social science research journals. Quantitative method and secondary analysis were used in this study. To this end, from the archive of 18 journals from 2009 to 2013, 89 journals were selected for analysis i.e. one journal was randomly selected from each year. The results showed that, from among the examined journals, 22% of women (4 journals) were directors, and 28% (8 journals) were chief editors. Out of a total of 224 members of editorial board, women comprised 21% i.e. 47 women members. Out of a total of 685 articles published in the selected journals, 19% of women were first authors and 23% were second authors. 4% of the articles were single-authored and 6.7% were co-authored by women. In other words, the number of articles written by women only (whether single-authored or co-authored) included almost 11% of the articles (i.e. 75 articles). In general, women had a decisive role in the production of knowledge and ideas i.e. equivalent to 42% of the articles published despite their little presence in the areas mentioned above. The results indicate gender inequality in academic departments and social science research journals and inadequate policy-making within the science institution in this area.

Study about political attitude and gender differences seems necessary, because of essential role of the political attitude in political behavior, and importance of gender differences for researchers in the field of women's studies. Considering to this scientific necessity, this study investigates the role of university reference groups in college students' political attitudes according to gender differences. This descriptive- analytic study was carried out using survey method. The statistical society is comprised of all the undergraduate, master's and PhD students at University of Tehran. 400 students (226 boys and 174 girls) were selected through availability sampling. Students have responded to a researcher- made questionnaire. The main hypothesis of this study is: there exists gender differences in relationship between the level of interaction with the reference group (including college professors, student organizations and the university students) and students’ political attitudes (in three dimensions: cognitive, affective and action). For data analysis, SPSS was used. The results showed that there are gender differences in all three dimensions of political attitudes. The findings also suggest that university friends and then college professors have the most important role in changing political attitudes of the students.

This study examines educational inequalities between boys and girls in secondary schools by using context, space, human resources, education coverage, education process, outputs and outcomes as comparative indicators. The research study is a descriptive - analytical survey. The required data have been collected through both using documents and questionnaires. Using stratified random sampling, the questionnaires were distributed among a sample of 815 high school students (419 boys and 396 girls) in province of Western Azerbaijan. Validity of questionnaires has been confirmed by using factor analysis and reliability by using Cronbach’s Alfa. The findings suggest that in the context of inequality, except for educational sensitivity of parents no other variable showed a significant difference between boys and girls. Given the disparity in the space, human resources and educational coverage indicators,, a significant inequality is evident between boys and girls. As to the question of inequality in educational processes, apart from inequality in the justice treatment, there is no significant difference between boys and girls. For the question of inequality in outputs and outcomes, the educational success of female students as well as their higher percentage of passing the university entrance and developed motivation toward school, shows higher status of girls.

The increasing trend of divorce during recent decade and consequently a rise in the number of men and women who have experienced divorce, clarifies the importance of paying attention to post-divorce life. However the study of how divorced subjects deal with life after divorce and also their perception, especially with a gender approach has been a neglected area in the Iranian sociology. Therefore the present research attempts to adopt a quantitative methodology and to apply in depth semi structured interviews with 36 divorced men and women in Tehran to discover the perception of subjects of different aspects of life after divorce and gender differences, in the way people deal with the situation.
The results show that with divorce several changes develop in various aspects of life of actors. Therefore actors should take new interaction policies in the areas of emotional, sexual, economic, psychological, relational, social, parenting, and home management in their lives. Also, gender culture, gender inequality in access to a variety of investments, legal distinctions, differences in habits, gender roles, distinctive sense of community of men and women, lead in various interactions and deal differently with divorce when it happens. The results indicate that, women compared to men experience different aftermaths of divorce and, by and large, they face with doubled challenges.

Attachment of children to their parents and their separation are two important growth processes which are summoned up in teens again and become more important. The present research tends to find out either the processes of attachment and separation among girls and boys take place in different ways or gender can affect the relationship between these two processes. To this end 300 students of the University of Isfahan were randomly selected and divided into two groups of 150 who answered the questionnaire of teen separation and attachment to their parents and peers. The results of independent “t” analysis show that two groups of boys and girls are different in terms of their attachment to their parents and their separation. Also a significant relationship between attachment of children to the parents and their separation in both groups was confirmed. The results of the analysis of subgroup (Z Ficsher) didn’t certify the regulating role of gender between attachment and separation. The above results made it clear that the process of separation for boys and girls is different. It was also revealed that girls are less confident of their parents support and availability. This may lead in formation of unsafe attachment styles and then block the successful process of separation and individualization among girls.

One of the public places in any given city is a place to have some fun. The most important feature of Islamic cities is the emphasis on gender segregation in public places and special required conditions for men and women to attend public places. Tehran as the most important metropolis in Iran and the capital of an Islamic country, has been witnessing a lot of changes in its leisure places looks.
Through historical method and descriptive-analytical method this research studies women’s leisure places from Qajar Era until now and the role of Islamic culture and historical-political features of Tehran as well as changes made in women’s attendance in those places. The results indicate that gender based leisure places in Tehran from Qajar Era until now can be divided into three categories: feminine, masculine, and feminine-masculine leisure places. Women’s presence in each of these places has been different from the other. Accordingly, Women’s presence in leisure places for both genders has risen compared to the past. Gender oriented leisure places have been reproduced too, namely women’s park, water parks, women’s concert halls, men’s stadiums.

Crime patterns and styles show that crime is a gendered phenomenon. This study seeks to explain the gender gaps in deviant behaviors, using the general theory of crime and analyses the role of self-control in deviant behaviors of boys and girls. The present research was carried out through survey method and a statistical sample of 420 students of Orumieh University in the academic year of 2010- 2011 was included in this study. The results of the mean difference test show that access to diversion opportunities and participation in deviant behaviors of the two genders are significantly different and the self-control mean of the two genders has been different, though not significantly. Moreover, the results of multivariate regression show that three variations of self-control, diversion opportunity, and the gender of respondents have significant impacts on their participation in deviant behaviors. Self-control variation, among three other main variables in this research, stands as the strongest predictor of boys’ and girls’ deviant behaviors.

The objective of the paper is to analyzethe impact of gender on media usage, and the preference and precedence given to various types of this media and their contents, in Iranian Society. Most of the relevant studies concentrate on representation, reception analysis and on the norms of women’s favorite genres. In general, gender plays a determining role in the use of different media sources and research concerningthis issue, has aspecial position in media studies. Most gender-based studies on media usagehave focused their attention on women; likewise, in this paper, we have also preferred to concentrate our attention onwomen. The main question is to investigate, taking into consideration the different kinds of pleasures and preferences, to what extent the gender variable could be a determining factor. Findings show that, with the exception of the internet, which is dominated worldwide by men, in general, gender is not a determining factor in researching the norms of media usage in Iran. This conclusion could imply gender equality in Iran, at least in terms of media usage.

Traffic events account for about 1,200,000 deaths and more than 50
million injuries annually across the world. Research shows that male drivers make up the majority of those who sustain injuries in car accidents. The present research aims to compare psychological factors affecting driving-related crashes of male and female drivers. Accordingly, the sample data is collected from 208 crash-involved drivers (18 female drivers i.e. 8.7% and 185 male drivers i.e. 88.9%) and 201 non-crash-involved drivers (20 female drivers i.e. 10% and 180 male drivers i.e. 89.6%). The respondents consist of clients who have either come to an insurance company to receive their insurance payment (crash-involved drivers) or renew their car insurance (non-crash-involved drivers). The subjects are randomly selected for the following tests: accuracy, aggression, personality and reaction time. Accuracy Test is, however, used in 5 situations, 3 of which include normal situation, a double-job situation and a distraction situation. Personality Test has 4 subscales, including affective constancy, social responsibility, self-control and emotion seeking. Reaction Time Test covers three levels, including simple, selective and complex. Using independent T-test, the comparison results indicate that there is no significant difference between female crash-involved and non-crash-involved drivers, this is also true for male and female crash-involved drivers (with over 4 crashes) in terms of all the related psychological factors. In other words, there is no difference between female crash-involved and non-crash-involved drivers in such factors as accuracy, reaction time, aggression and personality. It may also be concluded that female crash-involved drivers don’t have any specific traits which distinguishes them from the non-crash-involved ones. However, the comparison between male and female non-crash-involved drivers (over a period of over 3 years) shows that there is a significant difference between the two groups regarding first and third condition of accuracy and the sub-scale of personality i.e. self-control. The comparison of other psychological factors among the two groups does not reveal any significant difference. The comparison of the means related to the 3 significant factors in male and female non-crash-involved drivers indicate that women score higher in the first and third situations. In other words, this group enjoys a greater accuracy (31.57 and 13.02 in women vs.25.35 and 22.93 in men). However, in terms of the self-control subscale of personality questionnaire the male non-crash-involved drivers have gained higher scores (3.056 in women vs. 3.957 in men). In other words, male non-crash-involved drivers show more self-control in driving than female drivers.

Countries around the world are finding rural tourism as an alternative to sustainable development. This line of thinking requires a more diversified economy, enhanced human resource criteria, reduced rural migration, enhanced efficiency in human resources, job creation, cultural interaction, and environmental conservation. In addition, farm families are seeking more diversified form of production in order to survive the competitive world in agriculture. Environmental stress, reduced government support, climate change, and higher living expenses coupled with demand for better life quality are the motivational factors influencing farm families’ desire for multi-functional agriculture. Undoubtedly, women are the key players in rural development. However, their role is not as effective as their male counterparts. This is more visible in traditional society where women are more marginalized and excluded in rural development interventions. This gender differentiation has caused rural women to be excluded in many rural development interventions. This study aims to investigate the perception of local villagers of different gender groups in terms of acceptance of tourists in their village. Moreover, the present study determines the level of participation among local villages (men and women) in tourism activities and how this level of participation differs across gender. Finally, the present study focuses on motivation of local people in engaging in tourism activities and how this motivation has changed their social role. For the mentioned purposes, the study uses a mixed method design (a survey method and a case study) which includes structured questionnaire and semi-structured interview. In the qualitative part of the study, 19 people are interviewed using semi-structure format. In the quantitative part, 134 men and women residing in Oraman village located in Sarvabad town of Kurdistan province respond to the questionnaire. Results reveal that men and women hold different perceptions in terms of having tourists in their communities; motivation towards participating in tourism activities, and changing social role of women in the development of rural tourism. Moreover, an indigenous structure in rural tourism seems to be emerging as an entrepreneurial tourism. The result of this study has implications for Travel and Tourism Organization. First of all, tourist attraction can be made easier with rural women playing a major role. Their non-economic intentions as compared to men make them a valuable resource in attracting more tourists in their area. Men on the other hand, can be given state-support in setting up a business venture. This would in turn motivate local villagers in seeking more entrepreneurial ventures.

Most women need fundamental support to function in their humane life. In terms of gender, in Iran there are regional differentiations with regards to accessing benefits of development. The purpose of this paper is to describe the human development and development index in different regions and to study the relationship/ regression between levels of development and human poverty index on the basis of individual's deprivation in society in terms of three important indicators of human life such as life expectancy, knowledge and education and welfare. Study of gender differentiation in access to development's benefits is the main object of this article. In this paper sociological terms are adopted including Global system and women's empowerment theories and capability, inequality and social rejection approaches. The results conform to other early researches and approaches that show meaningful regression. The development indexes have a determining effect on changes and prediction of poverty and deprivation indexes. The absence of gender sensitive approach in planning for reducing the poverty and deprivation will increase the gender gap in the country.

Theoreticians of development believe that among the 3 types of capital; physical, technological and human capital; the main important one is human capital and its appropriate utilization. Economical development will not occur unless environmental factors of work and work organization develop culturally. Thus work ethic in the work culture of society will become important and warrant development and improvement. Presence of women in the work market is one of the effective variables on work culture and work ethic.
This research has a gendered view of work ethic in Iranian society. The question raised in this article tackles the following issues:
What similarities and differences are observed in men’s and women’s work ethic? If they are different, which factors interfere?
This research is conducted through a survey using a questionnaire. The sample population consists of 356 faculty staff of Tehran University including 148 females and 208 males. The sampling method used is stratified sampling. The results of research show that the variable of gender does not influence work ethic directly but it is influential through other variables. The most effective variables are mediating variables such as inner organizational and cultural variables. The causal model is distinctive both in men and women. While the work ethic model is very complicated for men, it is very simple for women. The reason for this refers to the fact that women want to maintain their jobs and keep it as long as they can. Therefore, in order to reach a desirable and effective work for all individuals based on universal standards, it is important to consider gender differences.

The pinnacle of this period could be said to have been the ten years reign of Alp Arsalan (455-65/1063-73) and twenty years reign of his son Malekshah (465-85/1063-73). These thirty years of continuous rule by father and son coincided with the chancellorship of Khajeh Nizam al-Mulk, a wise counselor to the Seljuks, who encouraged his Turkish Masters to follow Persian Tradition (Iranshahr) of Absolute Ruler.
In his masterpiece the Siyasatnameh he not only developed his political philosophy on the rules of governance, but also attempted to give a precise paradigm for an oriental Empire.
In this essay an attempt is made to look at the question of ‘gender’ as a social phenomenon in a cultural context and Siyasatnameh, a text from the fifth HQ/eleventh Ad century, is chosen as representing the cultural system of Persian society during this Period. Having introduced his society and era, his views concerning women as a social class during the Seljuk period is discussed. It is argued that Nezam al-Molk’s views with regards to women are influenced more by older Persian traditions than by Islamic Sheria laws

To explain the differences between the familial roles in men and women, this article has tried to analyze the perception of employed individuals, both men and women, towards their familial duties, their performance, as well as the possible gap between percieved and performed roles.
The study is based on a survey. The sample population of the research constitutes employed married men and women residing in Tehran. The sample is selected from research centers of state university and industrial centers in the city of Tehran. The research shows that: a) the division of labor in housework is based on gender roles, b) the attitude of men and women about their duties and their roles in the family differs consequently, c) The gap between perceived and performed roles is greater for women than for men.
It is also possible to conclude from the research that men are in charge of decision making and the financial matters in the family while it is expected for women to stay at home to take care of children; But as the children grow up the role of men with regards to children is increased.
