[English]

What is the perspective of university students on the extent and nature of women's social and political rights? Also, to what extent does this stance align with the fundamental principles of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran? Shiraz University students have been utilized as a case study in this investigation. The data were collected using a questionnaire that was created by the researcher and library resources, and the research method is survey-analytical. A multi-stage stratified random sampling method was employed to select 380 individuals from Shiraz University, which comprise the statistical population. The results of the investigation indicated that: 1. From a social perspective, the emphasis on equal pay and financial independence, in addition to equal access to the public sphere, suggests that women's socio-economic rights are being emphasized. Additionally, the emphasis on the division of household labor and joint responsibility in raising children suggests that equality is necessary in the private sphere. It is necessary to incorporate new principles into the constitution or reinterpret it in order to fulfill these demands. 2. The students' attitude from a political perspective affirms the right to equal participation in power, the right to civil protest, and the political empowerment of women, which necessitates a reinterpretation or modification of principles (including Article 113). Consequently, to empower women, a proposal is made to review the interpretation and implementation of the principles of the Constitution with the aim of enhancing social and political rights. Additionally, public education regarding women's citizenship rights and the establishment of women's social and political organizations are proposed.
